Ventia’s gold-standard social value measurement framework, which enables us to show clearly where the activities and initiatives we undertake are delivering value for the communities in which we work, contributed to a recent award win in the Northern Territory.   

Our team took home the Northern Territory (NT) Chamber of Commerce 2024 Business Excellence Award for our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, largely due to our ability to demonstrate success.  

Stephen Densmore, Ventia Defence Business Development Manager based in Darwin said, “our success reflects the team’s dedication to customer service excellence and the positive impact we have made to local communities while still ensuring our clients, such as one of our largest, the Department of Defence, achieve their national capability goals”. 

The judges specifically looked at our strategic approach, community influence, and commitment to customer satisfaction. They were also impressed with our ability to demonstrate clear measures of success through use of the global gold standard Themes, Outcomes and Measures (TOM) System, which demonstrates that we delivered $4.3 billion worth of social value to Australian and New Zealand communities in 2023. 

The NT-wide review panel were also impressed with specific examples such as 73.5% of our spend taking place in the local areas in which we operate, our First Nations participation rate, and our Veterans employment and transition programs, in particular those with the Northern Territory Government. 

Our successful Community Grant Program was also recognised, specifically the enrichment activities and essential resources for local groups we funded, including Northern Territory Legacy and Larrakia language programs.
