Through our Vianet business, Ventia is a leader in using Internet of Things (IoT) technology to solve business problems. We work with companies and authorities throughout Australia and New Zealand, especially those with many assets spread over large areas.
Our IoT solutions make use of emerging low-power wide-area (LPWA) network technology to gather infrastructure intelligence to better manage customer infrastructure. We use LPWA networks to connect large numbers of small, low-cost, battery-powered sensor devices, which we design, develop and manufacture. Vianet's data science team can then develop deep insights into infrastructure management.
We look for whatever technology solution can best deliver reliable performance with low power consumption. Currently, using the industry-leading LoRaWAN protocol, our devices are designed to achieve best-in-class battery life of ten years.
Using the data transmitted by these devices, our clients can make smarter business decisions and address problems more quickly, often preventing them in advance.
Our core capabilities include:
- automatic meter reading
- sewer monitoring
- data science and analytics
- neural network image processing
- predictive modelling
While much of our success to date has been with utility companies and authorities, our approach can benefit many industries and enhance a number of Ventia's other capabilities.
For example, we're working with our environmental monitoring business to reduce the cost and expand the reach of traditional monitoring solutions.
For our clients in the transport industry, we're developing solutions to monitor road network assets and enable more effective maintenance and response.
For our facilities management clients, we're deploying sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and even meeting room occupancy.
This emerging technology is only just beginning to flourish. Ventia is proud to be leading the charge in realising its potential.
