Broadspectrum, a Ventia company, has signed a seven-year extension to continue the operation and maintenance of EastLink in Melbourne. This is the third time our contract has been extended since the road and tunnels opened in 2008.
Ventia's Group Executive Transport - Peter Borden said,
I am extremely pleased to continue our great relationship with ConnectEast to deliver great outcomes for EastLink customers."
"During the 12 years Broadspectrum has been providing operations and maintenance services to EastLink, the business has built a strong partnership and an enviable reputation in the roads industry," he said.
"The alliance has evolved over the years, and in moving to the new contract, we have established a solid foundation to continue that development. Nothing ever stands still with ever-changing legislation, standards, technology and traffic patterns challenging us to advance and do better."
The new contract continues to build on the existing high performance of the alliance though enhanced performance criteria focusing on sustainability, optimising asset performance, safety and innovation.
"EastLink is considered a premier motorway which is largely due to the commitment of alliance staff to maintain a high-quality asset and operate it to the benefit of our clients and the overall Melbourne road network," Peter said.
We're proud to partner to continue our partnership with EastLink to operate and maintain the 40-kilometre motorway. EastLink carrys more than 250,000 vehicles per day.
