Ventia's BMS Motorway Response Officer Greg Cox has been recognised as the 2022 AfPA Flexible Pavement Field Worker of the year. Greg is a military veteran that has successfully transitioned to the civilian work force specialising in providing safe lane availability for high speed, high risk, open road networks. 

Often referred to as "Hero of the road", Greg is responsible for the operations of one of Brisbane's most iconic infrastructure - the Gateway Bridge and motorway.

Greg, along with other members of the Brisbane Motorway Services (BMS) Incident Response Team, manage 64km of motorway including 88 bridges and are responsible for the safe passage of over 320,000 Brisbane motorists per day.

Often first on scene prior to Emergency Services arrival, Greg delivers service excellence while working in a high risk and high-speed open road environment.  From attending medical emergencies, vehicle fires, people at risk of self-harm to routine breakdowns, he performs a high profile community leadership role.

Greg's performance in delivering high quality outcomes can be measured by the way he has built trust with the road user community. Since commencing employment with BMS in 2021, Greg has attracted a high number of customer compliments.
